We are a small team of doctors, care managers, technology experts, and executives with extensive experience in communications and online workflow/collaboration processes. We all have
a passion for helping others find better ways to get work done. We use simple online meeting, chat and communication tools to help you and your clients get your work done.
How does Apractis Solutions relate to "UpDox"?
The original UpDox Desktop Workspace tools were developed by a small team with our guidance. We are NOT a software company, but more of a service integrator and professional services provider. We are actually quite independent of any specific technology or service. Anyone who uses the original UpDox Desktop Workspace tools for Amazing Charts, for example, pays AC for the interface. There are no other obligated fees. A basic help site with video demos is provided. But most people have found it very helpful to have someone get online via direct personal web meeting and work through any setup or configuration issues relevant to their practice setting, review different ways to handle inbound and outbound faxing, review alternatives to fax/voice management, etc. That is what we at Apractis Solutions provide
on a personal basis. We like to think of it as having a Collaboration Partner, like a AAA auto service membership! It is very rare for anyone who has subscribed as a client to not feel satisfied with the service they get. We fully expect to provide the same level of expert attention to our clients who migrate up to the New UpDox Web Network, that is fully developed and owned by UpDox, LLC.
What services do we provide to our clients directly and via the UpDox Network?
Help you setup cover sheets to best meet your network needs
Help you manage outbound information that needs to reach contacts/clients or members
Help you manage inbound and internal messages, documents and tasks
Help invite your clients or colleagues in to begin reducing the need for less efficient communications such as fax and phone calls
If anything arrives from an external source to our central support service, we can also redirect things over to your personal or group inboxes
Help with online screen-sharing web meetings
Help finding other experts on the network that you might need on short notice for specialty support
Help download and setup of other tools that add more value to the UpDox network for you–such as Snagit for image capture and auto print to the web, GoToMeeting for screen sharing, Class Apps personalized
survey forms, and the incredibly practical WebOffice Databases we help configure and support

Why do we sponsor members in the UpDox Network?
As of December 15, 2008 we encourage all of our clients to register on the UpDox Network so we can better support your needs and introduce you to some very cool ways of managing information. We find the tools within the network–live chat in our professional “network”, group messaging, ability to post communications as tasks and track responses-all help us support our clients much more easily. And, as we do with all other things, we believe that exposing our clients to UpDox to get OUR work done, will help them discover
something new to help THEM get their own work done–whether they need us or not! If you are an Amazing Charts user and either have the original desktop document workspace tools (interfacing to AC prior to the new beta 4.0) or are going to the upgraded AC, which will interface to the new UpDox Network in mid-January…..we provide active professional support

What are our Apractis Solutions Client Fees?
As professional workflow experts we use tools like those within the UpDox Network, and others for web meetings, screen sharing, survey capture, etc–so that your time
with us is efficiently used. Our members pay an annual $90 membership fee, and for this we are about as accessible as professionals can be! This covers the first hour of personal online support as well as significant discounts
for affiliate services. Most of our support to clients is via email, help links, instant chat and does not involve any additional fees. For any individual additional online consultative services that involve longer online meetings or phone calls, we will always provide the service BEFORE you pay, as we work on the honor system with our clients. If for some reason you later require more extended personalized online support it is also done at $90 an hour.
As we get to more specific task based services we will develop models tied more to specific tasks, such as management of documents or records. But most people find the standard annual membership covers much of what they need, and can enjoy the other discounts and support services provided.
What is UpDox? Is it a live system or something in development?
It is very much a live, secure server based system, but it is still in evolution. The UpDox team provides a pre login “issues and system status” update screen so that you can always know about any new features added, any known bugs or other issues about the network on any given day.
How do you contact us via UpDox, and vice versa?
You might get a direct invitation to join. But right after you join UpDox click the NETWORK menu item on the top, search for first name Apractis. Then INVITE us to be part of your personal network. That will make it possible to send each other internal secure messages for support.

Do you need to use our services if you are an UpDox Member?
No, the UpDox Network is designed to enable any individual, small or large workgroup, or other sponsoring organization to help individuals solve their own communications
issues. The tools keep getting simpler and require very little support. We have mastered all of the services and tools within the UpDox Network, so that we can provide added value to UpDox Members who might find having an "online workflow partner" useful. It is an "added value service" for UpDox members, not anything required.
How do you get started?
If you would like to learn more about UpDox you can look thru the quick tips and demos in the announcements on this site. If you are ready to just jump right in and
register, then Join UpDox. Now. Pick a unique practice ID when you join, that you would hand out to other office staff or close work colleagues in sharing group tasks. Apractis Support Service are provided to subscribed members ($90 annual membership for you and your small office staff workgroup) A Members-Only Virtual Office has
more specific help screens, user support information and other valuable links. With the launch of the UpDox Network, and other recent developments, it is a good time to join the Apractis service, with our usual 30-day free trial.
Amazing Charts EMR users who are currently using the existing "UpDox Desktop Workspace Software" please do NOT upgrade to AC 4.0 yet, but read the rest of this message in detail about the new UpDox Network and upgrading.
On March 15, 2009 the new UpDox Network will be live for official general release. We would like to see all of our clients and contacts begin to register on the new UpDox Network so that we can begin to leverage this for all of our communications and support as well.

We at Apractis Solutions began the vision of UpDox in 2006, and helped to develop and support the UpDox Desktop Document handling tools that have been so well adopted by clinical practices scattered around the country. In 2007 we made a decision that our strength was as a small group of professionals, several in healthcare, with a keen interest in providing personalized support of peoples' workfow
needs-not in building or developing technology itself. And we decided that the vision of UpDox-to support broad, open, but highly personalized collaboration-was best achieved by a new web-centric technology company, now officially UpDox, LLC.
Nothing is changing about Apractis Solutions support for our clients- an annual membership subscription (for you or your practice group) to our personalized support
services, regardless of what tools or technologies you use. But most of our communications and support will now occur through connections within the UpDox Network. It helps us get our
own work done!
The new UpDox Network is being developed, promoted and managed by a highly adept and experienced team. We are “co-founders” and active participants in the design and deployment of the tools and services at the core of this network's value to
clinical (and many other) professionals, consumers, etc. All of us at Apractis Solutions already use the UpDox Network to communicate and collaborate in different aspects of our working lives. We have the utmost confidence that this talented team will take this vision
forth, consistent with our mission of excellence and pragmatism.
Now that UpDox, LLC has been formed and launched, Apractis Solutions is no longer developing its own workflow or software technologies and will be completely focused on client support services at a personalized professional level. We retain a clear independence of any particular technology, yet strongly recommend and selectively provide support to certain key tools and services that we believe best support these goals (i.e. Onebox, Webex Weboffices, LogMeIn,
GoToMeeting, Classapps survey tools,..and of course UpDox itself) And we will be very actively supporting anyone in the UpDox Network who chooses to seek our assistance, as well as encouraging ALL of our clients, contacts and guests to register with UpDox as soon
as possible.
What if I use the original “UpDox” Desktop Tools to get my work done?
If you use the existing “UpDox” Desktop Workspace software (up to version 4.8)—either the version that integrates with
Amazing Charts (prior to AC 4.0) or the general “Pro” version, this software will continue to exist “as-is” and do what it does today, but WE are not enhancing it further. Anyone who uses this software will be able to continue doing so as long as they choose..it is
not disappearing..and if you are a paid subscriber of Apractis Services, we will continue to provide the same support. But for anyone who is using these tools, and is, for example, expecting to interface to the new version of Amazing Charts, (4.0), that will ONLY
occur via the new UpDox Network and all of its associated tools.
What if I really liked the existing workspace tools and still want an updated version of these-is anyone enhancing it or developing other features? If wo, will it connect to my UpDox Network account?
YES. MIADOC.
The primary developer of the original software will be continuing to make modifications and offer newer versions of the
desktop tools under his own company name “MiaDoC”. Soon the original desktop product will no longer be available for NEW downloads but we will have a special discount to MIaDoC also, for any Apractis Subscriber. In reality much of the core workflow elements
of the desktop tools have been migrated up to a very scalable and robust “web-based” solution via UpDox Network. But there are always people and situations who like to use additional utilities at the desktop level to handle other aspects of document flow. We have
encouraged, and already seen working examples of, this new MiaDoC software simplifying the ability to “send things from my PC up to my UpDox Network Task Manager, which is very cool. There is a special interface that lets you easily take anything in the MIaDoC Workspace and send it up to the UpDox Network for communication and processing.
What if I use Onebox or the Virtual Office or other tools affiliated with Apractis Solutions?
Nothing changes at all about these or your relationship
to them. Just as now, if you are an Apractis Subscriber we support you on these services as well, but if you are using those on your own, then you continue to do so. On the other hand, we are constantly looking at some very innovative ways to help you interconnect
the workflow and efficiencies of these services with the UpDox Network itself. This is a big part of some our internal focus and we will keep our clients informed actively about it.
Do I have to be an Apractis Subscribed client to use UpDox Network or to keep using my existing software, or to migrate up to any other tools or services?
NO..the UpDox Network is a completely independent service
which you JOIN (it is free to join the basic service, details on the website at www.updox.com), use, and upgrade or leverage however you or your sponsoring program choose to. If you are ALSO an Apractis Subscriber then you would get our specialized workflow support,
access to our virtual office with helpful tips on how to best leverage UpDox for different needs, etc...but that is completely optional to you.
If I am already
subscribing to Apractis Solutions and, because of the new UpDox Network do not feel I need any direct personalized support for anything, what should I do?
You are free at any time to cancel your Apractis annual client subscription just as has always been the case. We hope that you will find the UpDox Network one more valuable place we have introduced you to as our client, and one more value-added service on which we can support you. But if you do not feel you need a separate “Apractis Support” relationship, then that is completely up to you. We dont think that will be the case for most, but we would both understand and still be proud of the fact that we introduced you to UpDox!
What are the new fees for the UpDox Network,
and how does this relate to any other fees I have paid already or expect to pay regarding other services, such as the Amazing Charts interface, Onebox, etc?
Apractis Subscribers will have a special discount to the UpDox Network. The UpDox website will be updated with specific information about different fee schedules and package plans. UpDox is working with Amazing
Charts and other service partners on any of the specifics about transitioning from one model to another wherever applicable. And if you have any questions for the UpDox Team, there is a simple contact form right on the front of their website. Do not hesitate to contact them directly. Please note that the "premium package offering" of UpDox Network that includes
"fax/mail/voice" service is for those who do not already have their own service like Onebox, Ring Central, etc for receiving inbound digital faxes. If you already have such a service, all you will need is the main UpDox Network package, and you can easily
"auto forward" inbound email/fax/voice into your UpDox Network group inbox--it is very cool!
